Movie-fi is a mobile application that helps movie lovers recognize the title of a movie by either using the microphone feature of the app, uploading a screenshot/short video clip, or using the keyword search option. Our app targets movie lovers around the world, who often struggle with knowing or detecting the titles of movies they have come across in different places. With Mo-fi, they can easily search for any movie they have come across, whether in a restaurant, office or on the internet.

Job Description

This is a volunteer internship role for a Virtual Assistant. We are a startup and we want you to get ready to gain experience.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with UI/UX designers, product managers, and other developers to translate project requirements into functional and user-friendly mobile applications.
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code using programming languages such as Swift (for iOS) or Kotlin/Java (for Android), adhering to coding standards and best practices.
• Implement user interface designs and user interactions to create visually appealing and intuitive app interfaces that enhance the user experience.
• Integrate with backend services and APIs to access data, handle authentication, and enable app functionality, ensuring seamless communication between the app and server.
• Conduct thorough testing and debugging to identify and resolve issues, ensuring app reliability, performance, and security.
• Optimize app performance and responsiveness, considering factors such as memory usage, network latency, and battery consumption, to deliver a smooth user experience.
• Stay updated on platform-specific guidelines, industry trends, and emerging technologies related to mobile app development, incorporating them into projects to maintain competitiveness and innovation.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience as an app developer, demonstrated through a portfolio of mobile applications developed for iOS, Android, or cross-platform environments.
• Proficiency in programming languages relevant to mobile app development, such as Swift (for iOS), Kotlin/Java (for Android), or JavaScript/TypeScript (for cross-platform frameworks like React Native or Flutter).
• Strong understanding of mobile app architecture, design patterns, and best practices, with the ability to write clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
• Experience with mobile app development frameworks and libraries, such as UIKit, SwiftUI, Android Jetpack, or third-party libraries for UI components, networking, and data storage.
• Familiarity with backend development concepts and technologies, including RESTful APIs, server-side scripting languages (e.g., Node.js, Python), and databases (e.g., MongoDB, PostgreSQL).
• Knowledge of mobile app testing and debugging tools, as well as experience with automated testing frameworks (e.g., XCTest, Espresso, Appium) to ensure app quality and reliability.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to analyze requirements, troubleshoot issues, and implement effective solutions within project timelines.
